In this policy, we use the terms "MySchoolDirectory™", "we", "my", 'our", and "us" to refer to myschooldirectory.org. We use the terms "you" and "your" to refer to MySchoolDirectory™ members and visitors of myschooldirectory.org.
We understand how important privacy is to our member schools and their communities of families and businesses that list in their school directory. We are committed to protecting your privacy and want you to know how your information is used, whether you provide it to us over the phone, by email, over the Internet or through the mail. What information we collect. When you register for membership, we ask for school information and the names, phones, emails and addresses of school contact personnel. We keep track of your participation in the MySchoolDirectory™ community and activities so we can understand our member interests and evaluate the effectiveness of the services we provide. We also may collect other demographic information from other sources to help us understand your needs. All of this information helps us serve you better and develop new services We will not sell or rent school member information to any other company unless they have contracted with MySchoolDirectory™ for member services that we deem will benefit you. You always have the right to opt-out of any such services should we decide to offer them. MySchoolDirectory™ will never sell, rent or share any family information that is published in your school directory. This information is only seen and processed by authorized management of MySchoolDirectory™ for the sole purpose of completing your directory kits. In order to protect your information, MySchoolDirectory™ uses or may use technologies and processes such as encryption, access control procedures, network firewalls, physical security and other measures. Any current or future e-commerce transactions conducted online at myschooldirectory.org or offline are secured by the Verisign® secure site program which is designed to encrypt information submitted to www.myschooldirectory.org during an SSL session to protect it against disclosure to third parties. If you do not want us to share your school contact information to MySchoolDirectory™ authorized providers of member benefits and services, please contact us and let us know. You do not need to supply us any information about yourself to view any page on myschooldirectory.org. Visitors wishing to take a directory tour are required to submit an email address and any pertinent school information to help us identify and serve you. If you use the online printable registration form to request a membership, we will ask for certain information to process your registration (names, school, email, phone and mailing address) only to help us communicate with you efficiently. If you register to receive e-mail newsletters, we will ask for your name, address, member number, and e-mail address so we can send you the newsletters. We may ask you for personal information when you participate in member activities or services online or by e-mail, such as surveys. We may also develop in the future, relationships with selected vendors and providers through online links that we feel will offer valuable benefits to you as a member that match your interests and needs. If we decide to include such service providers on myschooldirectory.org, you may be required to enter personal information to take advantage of these unique services. You are under no obligation to provide any information to any service provider other than the information we require as a member of MySchoolDirectory™. In addition to the information supplied on our custom spreadsheets and future online database, we may collect other non-personal information that is part of our online operations. This information includes access to your "IP address", and the type of browser you use. We use this information solely for the purpose of identifying how many people visit our website and the particular pages they are reviewing. We may assign a "cookie" to your computer. This helps us identify you by name, e-mail address or other characteristics. A "cookie" is like a piece of data that allows us to recognize you when you visit our site. It does not provide personal information about you unless you have already supplied that information to us. Our only purpose for collecting data about our member schools is to communicate with you in the most efficient means possible and provide you the many member benefits that will benefit your school. The information we request is for the processing of member registrations and for sending timely newsworthy e-mails like our member newsletter "Gluestick™" and future features like member forums. All member account information is stored in our computer files and spreadsheets and is used to service your membership. We may from time to time ask you to participate in member surveys, helping us to evaluate, modify and develop services that may be of interest to all our members. We take very seriously our responsibility to keep your school information confidential and private, especially school information including family and children names to maintain a child safe environment. Family information provided on our custom spreadsheets or online databases are protected with the security measures mentioned above and accessible only to company management in the process of producing your directory kits. Family information will never be disclosed in any form to any organization, unless we are required by law and have a good- faith belief that the action is necessary. If you should choose to terminate your membership at any time, your school information on file will be destroyed. We may include a discussion board or member forum on the myschooldirectory.org website where only member schools with usernames and passwords will have access to such information. The purpose of this information exchange will be for member schools to share and discuss ideas, services, programs and school results that serve to help other member schools. In such cases where we may require you to use a username or password to access member benefits and to protect your account from unauthorized use, if you allow others, including family and school members to access myschooldirectory.org members-only services through your member account, understand that you are responsible for the actions of these individuals. Because of our commitment to protecting the privacy of our member schools and the information you provide us, we do not expect to change or modify our policy. However, if we do make changes that are in your interests, we will notify you in writing or by e-mail. We plan to add exciting new features and benefits to our school members as our community grows. We may collect different types of information to facilitate these new services to better help and serve your needs. In these cases, we may modify this policy to explain these new services. Our committed goal is to connect or bind our school communities together as one and communication is the glue that binds us together.
